Web design and development in Greece, for small businesses

I do web design and development in Greece for small businesses: company sites, online shops, and sites for hotels and rentals. I'm based in Heraklion, Crete, and I've delivered sites in Crete, Santorini and Karpathos.
I work alone. Design, code and SEO are mine, so you talk to the person who builds your site, not a salesperson who hands it to someone else.
What a website from me includes
A site is judged on whether visitors find what they came for quickly and whether Google understands what you do. This is in every project, not in an add-on package:
- Fast on mobile
Most people see you on a phone first. I measure speed in PageSpeed before handover - Ready for Google from day one
Proper titles, a sitemap, structured data for your business, and Search Console and Google Analytics connected - Ready for AI search
robots.txt lets ChatGPT and the other AI tools read the site, so they can recommend you - An admin for you
You change text, photos and offers yourself, without waiting for me - Two languages where you need them
Greek and English with hreflang, so a visitor from abroad lands on the English page, not the Greek one
How much does web design cost in Greece?
A landing page starts at €800 and an online shop at €4,500, before 24% VAT (€992 and €5,580 with VAT). A business site in between is priced on a quote, after a short conversation: it depends on pages and languages, whether you need bookings or a chatbot, and whether an old site has to move.
For reference: three Greek agency price lists I checked on 7 October 2026 start at about €500 for a simple business site and reach €8,000 or more for an online shop. None of the three says whether VAT is included. The breakdown is in web design in Greece: what a website costs.
My prices are always before 24% VAT, with the total written next to them. After launch, maintenance starts at €100 a month before VAT, with hosting billed separately. It's optional.
Websites I've built
- Aroma Suites, Santorini. A new hotel site on Next.js, live 11 days after the audit of the old one, with 537 organic sessions in its first three weeks (Google Analytics, 28 March to 18 April 2026). The full story is in the Aroma Suites case study.
- Mariwn's, skincare shop. Next.js, payments through Viva Wallet and PayPal, shipping with ACS and Box Now.
- MorfoFit, subscription platform. A site with its own CMS and auto-renewing subscriptions through Viva Wallet.
- Kokos Rental, Chania. Technical SEO on an existing WordPress car rental site, from 34 to 88 on my audit rubric in one working day. What that number measures is in the case study.

Next.js or WordPress?
I build both. WordPress fits when you want a familiar admin and a large choice of ready-made plugins. Next.js fits when speed matters, when the site does something of its own (bookings, subscriptions, orders), or when you don't want to update plugins every month. Aroma runs on Next.js, Kokos on WordPress. How I choose, with PageSpeed numbers, is in Next.js vs WordPress.
If you already have a site: a redesign without losing Google
Most rankings lost in a redesign are lost because old URLs start returning "not found". Before I design anything, I list every address Google knows and decide for each one: keep it, redirect it, or retire it. The full process is in website redesign SEO.
Web design in Greece: how we work
- A short conversation
What your business does, who looks for you on Google, and what you want a visitor to do: call, book, buy. - A one-page quote
What gets built, what it costs, when it's delivered. Every price before VAT, with the total next to it. - Build on a live preview
You see the site take shape from the first week and give feedback before it's finished, not after. - Handover in your name
Domain, accounts and code in your name. I show you how to edit the content and stay available for what comes up.

FAQ
How much does web design cost in Greece?
A landing page starts at €800 and an online shop at €4,500. A business site in between is priced on a quote, because it depends on the number of pages and languages, whether you need bookings or a chatbot, and whether an old site has to move without losing its Google rankings. For a market reference, three Greek agency price lists I checked on 7 October 2026 start at about €500 for a simple business site. My prices are always quoted before 24% VAT, with the total written next to them.
How long does a new website take?
Usually 2 to 4 weeks. Aroma Suites went live 11 days after I audited the old site, because the text and photos already existed. If they are written from scratch, allow more time. The delivery date goes in the quote.
Do you work with businesses outside Crete?
Yes. I'm based in Heraklion and work with businesses across Greece: Aroma Suites is in Santorini and Amoopi Nymfes in Karpathos. The work is remote, and you see the site take shape on a live preview from the first week.
Can I edit the text and photos myself?
Yes. Every site comes with an admin for your text, photos and offers: WordPress, or a CMS such as Payload when the site runs on Next.js. You don't need to call me for every change.
Who owns the domain and the code?
You do. The domain, the accounts (hosting, Google Analytics, Search Console) and the code are in your name from handover. If you want to work with someone else tomorrow, you take everything with you.
Is SEO included?
The technical foundation is: a fast mobile site, structured data, a sitemap, proper titles, and Search Console and Google Analytics from day one. Ongoing SEO (articles, Google Business Profile, links) is separate monthly work, from €250 a month before VAT.
What does maintenance cost after launch?
Maintenance starts at €100 a month before VAT: updates, speed checks and small content changes. Hosting is billed separately. It's optional; the site works without it.
