AI SEO services: get found on Google and named by ChatGPT

OpenAI's Overview of OpenAI Crawlers page, with the OAI-SearchBot user agent circled in red next to its description: used to surface websites in search results in ChatGPT's search features
OpenAI's crawler documentation, 15 October 2026. If OAI-SearchBot can't read your site, ChatGPT search can't show it.

AI SEO services, the way I sell them, are two jobs done together: classic SEO, so your site shows up on Google, and the newer work of getting ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews to name your business when someone asks them who to hire. People call the second part AEO (answer engine optimization) or GEO (generative engine optimization). It's the same job under two names.

I'm Panagiotis Karampetsos, a developer and SEO consultant in Heraklion, Crete. I work remotely with businesses in Greece and abroad. I build websites as well, so when an audit finds a problem in the code, I fix the code myself.

Prices start at €250 a month, plus 24% VAT. I publish them below, and I don't promise anyone a mention in ChatGPT. Nobody can.

What are AI SEO services?

They're the work that makes a business easy to find and easy to recommend, for search engines and for AI assistants alike. Most of it is still SEO. An AI assistant that answers "who should I hire for X?" runs a web search first, reads what comes back and builds its answer from those pages. If your site doesn't show up in that search, or doesn't say clearly what you do and where, you're not in the answer.

DisciplineWhat it aims forWhere you see it
SEOYour pages rank in Google's resultsGoogle Search, Google Maps
AEO / GEOYour business is named or cited in an AI answerChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews

Google says there are "no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode" beyond being indexed and eligible for a snippet (Google Search Central). So answer engine optimization rests on ordinary SEO: indexing, clear pages, structured data. What it adds is the off-site part: listings, reviews and mentions on sites the AI reads. I wrote up the method in detail in how to rank in ChatGPT. This page is about what I do for you, and what it costs.

How does ChatGPT decide which business to recommend?

It searches, then it picks from what the search returned. I don't guess at this. I measure it. A script asks ChatGPT the questions a buyer would ask, then logs every web search it ran and every source it cited.

From my own runs on 15 October 2026, three things stood out.

ChatGPT searched the web before it answered, with queries like "best AEO agency generative engine optimization ChatGPT Perplexity 2026 agencies case studies". Those are the words your page has to carry, because that's what the search matched against.

The sources it cited were the providers' own service pages and directories. The firms it named each had a page built around one service and one place, something like "GEO agency in Greece". A general "digital marketing" homepage didn't get picked.

It leans on review sites. I ran eight questions a guest might ask about small hotels in Fira, Santorini, and TripAdvisor showed up as a source in most of the answers.

OpenAI's crawler for this is OAI-SearchBot, and OpenAI's own documentation says it is "used to surface websites in search results in ChatGPT's search features" ( OpenAI, Overview of OpenAI crawlers). If your robots.txt or a Cloudflare setting blocks it, you're out before the content matters. I check that first.

What do my AI SEO services include?

Everything a search engine or an AI assistant reads about you, in the order I'd work on it:

  1. Technical check. Indexing, speed, broken links, redirects, robots.txt and the AI crawlers it lets in, schema markup. My technical SEO checklist lists every check. On Kokos Rental, a car rental site in Chania, Search Console showed 7 of 24 known URLs indexed when I set it up. Nothing else matters until Google can see your pages.
  2. One page per service. AI assistants name firms whose page states the service and the place. If you sell three services, you need three clear pages, each built around the phrase a buyer types. That's why the page you're reading exists.
  3. Question-led content. Pages that answer the questions buyers ask, with a short answer first, so an AI can quote it. On the SEO + 3 articles plan I write three a month.
  4. Entity footprint. Your business name, address, phone, website and category, the same everywhere: Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Apple Maps, and the directories in your industry. Mismatched details make an AI less sure you're one business.
  5. Reviews and mentions. A steady routine for asking for reviews, plus earned mentions and links from relevant sites. AI answers lean on third parties more than on what you say about yourself.
  6. Measurement. Search Console and analytics every month, plus a fixed set of buyer prompts asked to ChatGPT, with the searches and sources logged.

How much do AI SEO services cost?

Three monthly plans, all plus 24% Greek VAT:

PlanPer monthWith 24% VATFits
Basic SEO€250€310A site in decent shape that needs looking after
SEO + 3 articles a month€450€558A business that needs new pages to show up for more searches
AI-assisted SEO, off-page and local€600 to €1,500€744 to €1,860A business that competes on Google Maps, in several languages or in AI answers

The VAT column is my own arithmetic at 24%. My answer engine optimization services, AEO and GEO, sit in the third plan, because most of it happens off your website: listings, reviews, mentions and prompt tracking. Where you land between €600 and €1,500 depends on how many locations and languages you have and how much off-page work your competitors make necessary. I give you the number after I've looked at your site, before anything starts.

I use AI systems for the repetitive parts: checking hundreds of pages, drafting, logging what ChatGPT answers. I review and approve everything that goes out.

Results I can show, with dates

Every number below comes from the client's own Search Console or Google Analytics, my audit files, or my prompt logs.

The Kokos number is a site health score from my own checklist, not traffic. The Aroma ChatGPT result is a single run: AI answers change between runs, so every month I ask ChatGPT the same buyer questions, log what it searched and which sources it cited, and look at the trend.

Do you need an AI SEO agency or one consultant?

It depends on the size of the job. An AI SEO agency has a team, which helps when you need hundreds of pages a month or ads alongside SEO. With me you get one person who does the technical work, writes the content and builds the pages, so nothing gets lost between a strategist, a writer and a web team.

I'm the better fit for a small or mid-sized business with one site, a few services and an owner who wants to talk to the person doing the work. If you need a large content team, an agency suits you better, and I'll say so on the first call.

What I won't promise

I won't promise that ChatGPT will recommend you. AI answers vary from one run to the next, and nobody controls what a model picks. If someone guarantees you AI mentions, ask them how they'd measure it.

I won't promise position one on Google either. What I will tell you is what's stopping Google and AI assistants from understanding your business today, what I'd fix first, and how we'll both see whether it worked.

FAQ

What's the difference between SEO and AEO?

SEO aims for your pages to rank in Google's results. AEO, answer engine optimization, aims for your business to be named or quoted in the answers of AI assistants. They share most of the work, because AI assistants search the web before answering. AEO adds the off-site part: listings, reviews and mentions.

Is GEO the same as AEO?

In practice, yes. GEO, generative engine optimization, is the term used more in research and by agencies, and AEO more in marketing. Both describe getting a business into AI-generated answers. So if you're comparing generative engine optimization services with AEO services, you're comparing two names for one plan. I sell it inside my AI SEO services.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my business?

No. Nobody can. I can make your business easier to find and easier to verify: allowed crawlers, clear service pages, consistent listings, reviews and mentions. Then I measure the same buyer questions every month so you see whether it's moving.

How long does AEO take to show results?

Technical fixes show in Search Console within weeks. AI mentions take longer, because they depend on new pages getting indexed and on third-party sites picking you up. Expect months, not weeks, and judge it on a trend across several runs, not on one answer.

Do I need an llms.txt file?

Not for AI answers. Google says there are no special optimizations needed to appear in AI Overviews. If your site already has one, it does no harm. I spend the time on crawler access, service pages and your listings instead.

What's included in the €250 plan?

A monthly Search Console check, technical fixes (broken links, redirects, slow pages, schema, sitemap), better titles, descriptions and internal links on pages that already get impressions, and a short note on what changed. No new content. The €450 plan adds three articles a month.

Do you work with businesses outside Greece?

Yes. I work remotely, in English and Greek. Search Console, ChatGPT and Google Business Profile work the same everywhere, though the directories that matter change by country and industry.

Do you do AEO for hotels?

Yes. Hotels have their own mix of OTAs, review sites and the map pack, so I cover them on a separate page: hotel SEO and AI answers.
